Meet TRIB3’s CMO;
Kirsty Angove

This week for International Women’s Day, we’re highlighting some of the inspirational women who are part of our TRIB3 family. We’re surrounded by courageous and ambitious women and their involvement in TRIB3 helps make us what we are today, a kind, inclusive yet ambitious and daring community.

Meet Kirsty Angove, our Chief Marketing Officer.

Custodian of our brand and leader of our marketing and communications function, Kirsty has been with TRIB3 for eighteen months and in health and fitness marketing for a decade.

Having transitioned from PR to marketing, it was while leading the marketing for Nuffield Health’s network of over 100 health clubs across the UK that Kirsty fell in love with the sector. ‘I love what the fitness industry represents and the good it does – having been on my own journey professionally and personally, I understand both the barriers to entry and also the benefits of being physically active and part of a community that supports and motivates each other. I love having an instrumental role in building a brand that is all about creating a platform to bring people together with a workout experience that is centred around accessibility and inclusivity.’

Due to her work across brand, marketing and digital transformation, Kirsty has spoken at several major fitness conferences across the world alongside a host of industry leaders. ‘In 2019 I presented at the European Health and Fitness Forum which was themed around sales and marketing in the sector but was also hosted by the Women in Fitness Association. I’m starting to really see a movement to champion women in the sector and share resources and experience which is both important and exciting in terms of the opportunities it creates.’ It was at a later conference, in Shanghai, that Kirsty met Kevin Yates, CEO and founder of TRIB3, a meeting which brought her to the TRIB3 family.

‘I was just really inspired by his vision and the values he instils in the organisation and how it operates. TRIB3 is all about empowerment, inclusivity and community. We have this ethos of #OneTRIB3 which permeates everything we do. One of the biggest joys of being part of TRIB3 is supporting people to realise their vision of becoming their own boss – more and more women are now getting into franchising and in the last year, the first three franchisees I ended up working alongside at TRIB3 were all female and truly inspirational in their vision and approach.’

Her advice for leaders and females in the sector? ‘Use your influence for good, always act with kindness and trust in yourself. I have a very caring and considered approach to things and in my early career, I remember worrying that you had to be a lot more bullish and direct to lead at the top level. I’ve since had the benefit of being influenced by some amazing leaders who’ve shown me you can adapt your approach to drive momentum and influence others while still staying true to your values. Truly great teams are all about balance.’
